All the subscription money paid by our members is split approximately 50/50 between a national levy which covers insurance, training and support by the Scout Association, the running costs of the different sections and the day to day maintenance and running costs of the hall and all the equipment used by the Group.
Any improvements to the facilities and the cost of major repairs, are met by the executive committee’s fundraising activities. Marquee hire is one fundraising activity, with the marquee’s being erected and dismantled by a number of volunteers who welcome any extra help an occasional basis. Other activities include organising social events such as ten pin bowling, BBQ’s and fireworks, making grant applications and organising repairs and improvements.
The committee, which is made up of parents, supporters and leaders, meets on second Monday each month (except August) at the Group headquarters. If you could help either on the committee or with the marquee team, please contact Julien LePlain the group Scout Leader on 01242 234006.
