Cub Sailing
Thursday, 04 December 2008
Image

Monday Cubs (and one or two Tuesdays Cubs) had good fun sailing at South Cerney this October. The wind was quite challenging and few had sailed before but everyone had a great time. Brilliant instructors showed us the ropes and the that few ended up in the water were swiftly rescued!

Competition was strong. Leckhampton Cubs came in first team place with second place taken by a joint Leckhampton and Bethesda team and in joint third place were Charlton Kings Monday and Tuesday Cubs.

Jake Billingham (24th) took individual first place, in second place were Joseph Hordern and Frazer Thomas (24th) and in joint third place were Rory Murfitt (45th)and Oscar Harvey (10th).

Everyone appeared to have a good time and we look forward to repeating the event next year.

My Cooking Base

I made spaghetti for my family. I used the following method:

I chopped one onion into small pieces then browned them in a frying pan with a little oil for ten minutes. I then added some minced beef and slowly stewed it until it had browned. I then added some tomato puree and a tin of chopped tomatoes. I mixed it all together with a crumbled ‘Oxo’ cube, left it all to simmer on a low heat for one hour so I boiled a pan of water and added a little salt and a couple of drops of oil. I cooked the spaghetti for 10 minutes then added the Bolognaise.
